| Solution: |
| Kitchen drawers and doors can get misaligned and hard to open, but if you have these European-style hinges they're easy to adjust. You'll actually kick yourself for not doing it sooner. |
| |
|
| 1.
Make sure the door and mounting screws are nice and snug. These are the screws that hold the hinge in place on the door and the inside of the cabinet.
|
| |
| 2.
If the door isn't sitting flush, adjust your depth screw, which determines how far in or out the door sits. It's the screw toward the back of the cabinet. Some will automatically move the door and some you have to loosen up. Move the door yourself and then tighten it back up. The only way to tell which you have is to try it out. |
| |
| 3.
If your door is crooked, adjust the side screw which will be the one closest to the front of the cabinet. This screw will move the door from side to side so you can square it up. |
| |
| 4.
If you door is too high or too low, loosen the mounting screws on the door, move the plate in the direction you need, and just tighten the screw back up.
|
| |
| 5.
Now for the drawers. Most problems are caused by dirty tracks, so take the drawer out and use a toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the tracks and moving parts on both the inside and outside of the drawers. Once everything is cleaned, use some mineral oil on a cloth to lubricate the tracks, then put the drawer back in place.
